Our own Leslie Piels (Accessories) searches many departments for receptacles to house her creative succulent arrangements. Pottery, metal, cookware and china all come into her greenhouse. Who would have thought an old card file box could look so cute. Look for her succulents around the bay.
Artist, Liz Berg, heads to the linen and fabric departments and she uses her purchases in her art work. “I like to dye the linens and incorporate them into my mixed media and art quilt pieces.” Everything from upholstery samples to distressed linens are included. Liz went on to add that WES was the best place to purchase such things.
Nancy Bernard comes for the vintage linens as well. “Here’s the pic of the curtain I made from the the laces I bought from you. I love it, hope you like it, too.” We DO!! Our customers have the BEST ideas!
Paige has probably set the record as the person that comes the farthest for WES. She flies in from Connecticut every year to shop with her son, Ian and his soon to be fiancé, Ashlee.
While waiting in line to get in they come up with a scavenger hunt each year. A few of this year’s items are; A bobble head that isn’t a sports figure, something from your birth year, something that was formerly alive, a snow globe that isn’t Christmas, something with a miss matched head to body…..
Here are a few of the treasures on the list that were found at WES.

Jackie and Jean are regular White Elephant Sale shoppers who make the trip from Sacramento. They had already made four trips out to the car with their finds by the time we caught up with them. One of their best finds of the day is this vintage sewing box. Every year they come to look for one of a kind items and are never disappointed.
